As the new academic year begins, The Center has several educational offerings and hobbies available to learn including Lunch & Learns, artistic painting, and mahjong. Below you will find the details of these programs and activities and more taking place at The Woodbridge Center in September.
Enjoy lunch followed by an educational presentation about birds commonly found in CT. Learn unique features that identify CT birds, along with their migration habits, and the best feeders to use to attract specific species. The presentation will be given by Tom Kosturko of Compassion Home Care,
The Matsiko World Orphan Choir brings together some of the world’s most vulnerable children, mainly from third world countries like Liberia, India and Peru, to not only raise money for their education but also spread the message that there are over 600 million orphans throughout the world.
First Selectman Mica Cardozo will be available the second Wednesday of the month for coffee and casual conversation. Bring your questions, comments, and concerns to discuss with First Selectman Cardozo. Please RSVP with The Center 203-389-3430 and share any topics you may be interested in learning
Improve your balance, mobility and daily functioning while preventing falls with this popular, evidenced-based therapeutic movement program, offered in partnership with the CT Healthy Living Collective and funded in part by the CT Department of Aging and Disability Services State Unit on Aging.
Elementary students from the Beecher Road School Student Council have planned a fun game day for residents and non-residents over the age of 55! Participate with the students in a variety of board games provided by the council, then enjoy free pizza with dessert after – sponsored by The Center.
