5th Annual Gospel Shabbat Celebrates MLK

Congregation B’nai Jacob will host its 5th annual Gospel Shabbat Community Service on Friday, January 16, 2026. The service begins at 6:30 p.m. at the synagogue, located at 75 Rimmon Road in Woodbridge.
The event, held in celebration of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, is organized in collaboration with the African American Historical Society, the Jewish Historical Society, The Towers, Shoreline Soul, and Valley Soul.
The service will feature Gospel music directed by professional singer and choir director Angela Clemmons. The program is designed to honor the work and legacy of Dr. King through music and community gathering.
Admission to the 6:30 p.m. service is free, though registration is requested.
Following the service, a dinner will be held. Tickets for the dinner are $18.00 for adults and $12.00 for children ages 3–12. Children under the age of 3 may attend for free. Reservations for the dinner must be made by January 9, 2026.
