Board candidates respond to questions relating to the board and district operations, including budget, curriculum, school libraries

Amity Allies, an independent group of local parents and caregivers, has released its voter guide for the candidates running to serve on the Amity Board of Education in 2023.  The guide provides candidate responses to ten questions regarding matters that relate to the board and district operations, including budgeting, curriculum, the selection of materials in the schools’ libraries, and creating a welcoming climate in the schools.

“The voter guide is the next milestone in our mission to provide voter education regarding public education in the three towns of the Amity district,” says Robert Lim, Chairperson and Co-founder of Amity Allies.  “We are excited to be able to share in-depth perspectives from candidates on matters of substance.  An educated citizenry is foundational to American democracy, and we’re glad to help voters make an informed choice that will have a meaningful influence on the future direction of our schools and our children.”

The voter guide is available online at https://www.amityallies.org/voter-guide.  Amity Allies is an independent group of parents and caregivers from the Amity district of Bethany, Orange, and Woodbridge working to improve voter awareness within their community.
