Artist in Residence Weekend at Congregation B’nai Jacob

Congregation B’nai Jacob in Woodbridge welcomes Artist in Residence Rachel Haymer for a weekend of music, storytelling, and community from December 5 to 7. Haymer, known as the Shaloha Ambassador, blends her Hawaiian roots with Jewish musical traditions to create joyful, engaging experiences for all ages.

Weekend Schedule
Friday, December 5 at 6:00 PM – Schmooze and Shabbat Services at B’nai Jacob, led by Rachel Haymer with Cantor Kochava Munro, Rabbi Rona Shapiro, Rabbi Eric Woodward, David Franklin, Richard Katz, and Andy Bedford.
Saturday, December 6 at 9:30 AM – Shir Hadash Shabbat morning service at B’nai Jacob.

Saturday, December 6 at 7:00 PM – Live from the Cupboard at B’nai Jacob, an evening of storytelling, music, and community featuring Rachel Haymer, Rabbis Eric Woodward and Rona Shapiro, Richard Katz, Cantor Kochava Munro, David Franklin, and jokes by Joel Sachs. Sweets, scotch, and great company included.
Sunday, December 7 at 3:00 PM –Hands-On Chanukah
Location: Congregation BEKI, 85 Harrison Street, New Haven
PJ Library, Congregation B’nai Jacob, Congregation BEKI, and Tkiya present a family-friendly Hands-On Chanukah celebration featuring music, movement, and Chanukah fun for children of all ages. Enjoy tasty latkes and an immersive musical experience led by Tkiya songleader Rachel Haymer, a ukulelist and singer from Honolulu known for her joyful, creative approach to Jewish music. This program is free and open to the community. RSVP by December 3
Haymer is a soulful Jewish musician, educator, and co-director of Rappers and Rabbis. Her original music, featured with Music Under New York and streaming on all major platforms, blends heart, humor, and meaning.
