Israel Trip Presentation

Avital “Tali” Sokolow Silverman will present a Zoom schmooze on Tuesday, April 9 at 7:30 pm about her February 2024 Israel trip with the CJP Boston Strong, Israel Strong Solidarity Mission.   She will share her photos and experiences speaking with survivors from Kibbutz Kfar Aza and Ofakim, from visiting the Nova Festival memorial and the temporary relocation home of Kibbutz Re’im.  Email office@beki.org to request the Zoom link.

Liel Leibovitz Book Talk

Liel Leibovitz, author of How the Talmud Can Change Your Life:  Surprisingly Modern Advice from a Very Old Book, will give a talk and sign copies at BEKI on Sunday April 14.  His book — plus other books in the GiftShop—will be available for purchase, as will Passover gifts.  Light refreshments will be provided.  Details at beki.org.

Prayer and Liturgy

Explore prayer and liturgy with Rabbi Carl Astor via Zoom on Wednesday, April 17 at 7:30 pm.  Hebrew proficiency is not required.  This is not a class, but rather an open forum to learn together and share ideas.  Rabbi Astor is Rabbi Emeritus of Congregation Beth El in New London.  To request the Zoom link for this monthly discussion, email office@beki.org.

Keith Richter:  Nature Photography Exhibition

The nature photographs of BEKI member Keith Richter are featured in BEKI’s upstairs gallery through May 26.  Richter’s photography is a blend of his two passions:  abstract art and nature.  He seeks to capture the ways in which abstract art mimics nature through shapes, colors, and patterns.  Email office@beki.org to arrange time to view the exhibition.

Learn with the Rabbi

Rabbi Woodward will answer questions about Hilchot Pesach, the Laws of Passover, on Saturday, April 13.  Details at beki.org.  He leads a discussion of the weekly Torah portion on Thursdays.  Talmud class meets April 7 and other select Sundays.  Details at beki.org.

Children’s Programs

Children's Havura, K-2 Kehila, and Junior Congregation, all led by parent or grandparent volunteers, meet each Saturday.  For more information, consult Education Director Annie Norman-Schiff at anormanschiff@beki.org.
