Beth El – Keser Israel Events for November 2025

Weekend of Study with Arnie Eisen
Arnold M. Eisen, chancellor emeritus and professor of Jewish Thought at The Jewish Theological Seminary, who is considered one of the world’s foremost authorities on American Judaism, will be at BEKI the weekend of Nov. 7-9, from Friday evening through Sunday morning. The focus will be his latest book, Seeking the Hiding God: A Personal Theological Essay. The weekend will include four talks, including a Saturday conversation between Prof. Eisen and BEKI’s Rabbi Eric Woodward. All four events are free of charge, but registration would be appreciated. Details at beki.org. This Shabbaton is made possible by generous support from the James M. Shure Educational Fund.
Learn with the Rabbi
Rabbi Eric Woodward teaches a one-hour Talmud class on select Sunday mornings, including Nov. 2 and 16. Consult office@beki.org for details.
Children’s Programs
Children's Havura, K-2 Kehila, and Junior Congregation, all led by parent or grandparent volunteers, meet each Saturday. For more information, consult Education Director Annie Norman-Schiff at anormanschiff@beki.org.
Services Twice Daily
BEKI offers both a morning and an evening service throughout the week. Consult beki.org for details.
Better Hanukkah Gelt
Thanks to the efforts of a volunteer, fair trade chocolate Hanukkah gelt is again available for order through BEKI. These mesh bags of coins use chocolate that has been screened for child slavery, a problem that plagues the cocoa industry. Orders must be placed before Sunday, Nov. 30. For more information, consult office@beki.org.
