Bread & Torah with Rabbi Rona Shapiro

Shabbat Morning: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM

Rabbi Shapiro will be teaching Mishna Berachot, which deals with the subject of blessings—how and when to say them. The mishna is a compilation of oral traditions recorded around 200 CE to preserve Jewish teachings as Jews went into exile.

PJ Library Hands-On Chanukah: A Partnership with Congregation BEKI, Congregation B’nai Jacob & Tkiya

A Lunch & Learn with Child Psychologist Dr. Rosalind Atkins exploring how the concept of childhood has shifted across cultures and historical periods, and which ideas seem universal or culturally specific.

Explore the Jewish Theological Seminary’s Special Collections at the Grolier Club

Shabbat Morning: 9:00 AM – 9:45 AM

A trip to New York City to view highlights of JTS’s world-class Special Collections, including Cairo Genizah fragments and medieval illuminated haggadot. The tour with Dr. David Kraemer is followed by lunch at the Second Avenue Deli. Participants purchase their own train tickets and lunch. RSVP at bnaijacob.org.

Hanukkah Party & Shabbat Dinner presented by CBJ Cooks

Friday, December 19, 5:30–8:30 PM

Enjoy a festive Hanukkah Shabbat dinner prepared by CBJ Cooks, featuring homemade favorites, warm company, and music from the Bima Band. $18 per person (children under 10 free). RSVP at bnaijacob.org.

CBJ Teens & CBJ Kids Day Trip to NYC

Sunday, December 29
