Mantras Market Grand Opening Offers Organic Shopping and Distinctive Dining Experience

Mantras Market, 9 Lucy Street, Woodbridge, held its grand opening this weekend, which celebrated the realization of a dream for its Chef & Owner, Julian Brown, and the launch of a distinctive organic shopping and dining experience.

A member of both the Amity Chamber of Commerce and the Greater New Haven Chamber, the celebration began with a joint ribbon-cutting ceremony that flowed into the market's parking lot, and proceeded to a reception that offered the public a robust sampling of gourmet appetizers and beverages as they shopped the shelves for fresh produce, pastas, and an assortment of high-quality foods.

The celebration was led by Brown and his wife, Pilar, who were joined by Mica Cardozo, First Selectman of Woodbridge, and Amity Chamber of Commerce CEO, Barry Lee Cohen, along with an enthusiastic crowd of customers, friends, family, and neighbors who were lined up waiting to enter Woodbridge's newest addition to the Amity Road business corridor.

Brown said, "Today embodies what Mantras Market is all about: people coming together to celebrate our close community ties and supporting the farmers who make it happen. We can't wait to continue that mission and hope Woodbridge and the surrounding communities continue to support us."

By day, the market offers fresh, local organic produce provided directly by Mantras' partnership with dozens of local CT farms. Prepared meals, house-made goods, imported products, and specialty peak-season items from around the world also fill the shelves. After 6:00 pm, the market shelves give way to an intimate, multi-course chef's table dinner. Guests are surrounded by fresh farm produce of the season, with a rotating, hyper-seasonal chef’s tasting menu that Brown notes, 'is the true essence of farm to table and embodies that promise.'"
