The Woodbridge Town Library is Turning 100
The Woodbridge Town Library is celebrating our centennial in style! We’ll be marking our hundredth anniversary with a roaring twenties themed gala on Saturday, October 17th from 7-10pm at the Woodbridge Town Library. Wear your best party clothes and help us celebrate a major milestone in the history of both the library and Woodbridge. Tickets are now on sale both in person at the library or on our website (www.woodbridgetownlibrary.org). Tickets are $75, event is ages 21+.
Enjoy a robust selection of decadent appetizers, including charcuterie, provided by Chaplin in Shelton CT. Beer, wine, and a signature cocktail will also be on offer in addition to nonalcoholic options. Each ticket entitles you to one free drink. For dessert we’ll be offering a selection of chocolates and cupcakes.
It wouldn’t be a gala without music to dance the night away to. We’ll be hosting live performers throughout the evening for your entertainment, including the Jazz trio Sequel.
Make a memory to last a lifetime with a visit to our open-air photo booth. We’ll provide props and a backdrop, you bring your most glamorous self. Big enough to accommodate your entire group in one shot, the booth is run by a professional attendant and yes, everyone gets a real photo strip!
If you don’t know your Lindy Hop from your Charleston, now is your chance to learn! Elm City Swing and Blues, a non-competitive swing, blues, and fusion dancing community based in New Haven, will be offering optional Swing Dancing lessons during the gala. In exchange for a small donation to help them preserve and promote the diverse history of Swing Dancing, guests will have the opportunity to learn all the right moves from a group of passionate dancers.
All proceeds from ticket sales will help support and enhance the library offerings such as speaker programs, expanded support for the library collection, equipment (particularly computer and technology equipment), professional staff training, movie nights, statewide museum passes, and activities for all ages from preschool puppet shows to adult cooking demonstrations.
