First Selectman’s Youth Award-Nominations Sought

If you know a Woodbridge youth (up to 18 years old) who has volunteered their time working to improve the Town of Woodbridge or its residents, consider nominating that deserving resident. Principals, teachers, fellow students, neighbors, group, and religious leaders, etc. are encouraged to make nominations. Parents or family members may not nominate a relative. Nominations are due to Youth Services by April 8. The winner will receive their award at a Volunteer Celebration this spring. The nomination form can be found on the Town Website at or call the office at 203-389-3429.

Job Bank Seeks Woodbridge and Bethany Teens Who Want Work

The Job Bank guides teens ages 13-18 as they apply, interview, and earn money doing odd jobs for Woodbridge residents. Teens are needed, especially for snow shoveling, raking and yard work. Contact the Job Bank to schedule your interview. Other jobs include babysitting, housework, animal care, tutoring and tech assistance.

Local Prevention Council Holds Billboard Contest

BOWDAAC (Bethany-Orange-Woodbridge Drug and Alcohol Action Committee) is holding a Billboard Design Contest for BOW students in grades 6 – 12. Subject can be substance or mental health related. Create a positive message or suggest a healthy alternative. Bold, vibrant colors should be used and a short message of up to seven words. Entries are due by Thursday, February 29, 2024. Three designs will be chosen for display on Route 34 (Derby Avenue). Email for rules and details.
