Flyer for "Breakfast in the Time of Revolution" open house on March 29 at Darling Farmstead, featuring colonial dishes and historic house tours.

The Amity & Woodbridge Historical Society has announced its upcoming spring open house, titled "Breakfast in the Time of Revolution." The event is scheduled to take place on March 29th from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Historic Darling Farmstead and History Museum, located at 1907 Litchfield Turnpike.

The afternoon program focuses on the culinary habits of Colonial Americans as they braced for the Revolutionary War. Attendees will have the opportunity to explore traditional dishes prepared at the farmstead’s hearth and hear about various "breakfast surprises" from the era. The experience includes the chance to sample George Washington’s favorite breakfast and try a "British tea" alternative, reflecting the dietary shifts and political climate of the time.

In addition to the food-centered programming, the open house features activities for all ages. There will be a dedicated children’s activity titled "Fabrics & More from Our Collections," and visitors are invited to take a formal tour of the historic house. For more information, interested parties can contact the society at info@woodbridgehistory.org or visit their website at www.woodbridgehistory.org.
