The Beth-El Center, supported by a joint Milford-Woodbridge homeshare steering committee, seeks homeowner input on the feasibility of piloting a homeshare program in Milford and Woodbridge.

We are asking homeowners in both towns to complete a brief online survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Homesharing_survey) to assess how they view homesharing in order to understand the challenges of establishing a homesharing program in South Central Connecticut.

Homesharing is a structured, mutually beneficial housing strategy that helps both people with available living space and those seeking housing explore shared living arrangements: a homeowner offers a private bedroom and shared common area in exchange for an agreed on benefit such as affordable rent, help around the house, transportation to appointments, yard work, meal preparation, or companionship. Homesharing allows homeowners to reduce the burden of maintaining their homes, including receiving rent to support increased property tax and housing maintenance costs, while providing affordable housing solutions for others.

To date, there are over 55 homesharing programs across the country that provide differing levels of support for homeowners and homeseekers throughout the process, including screenings, compatibility reviews, written agreements, and follow-ups).

Access the survey  at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/Homesharing_survey.
