A silhouette of Ariel from Disney's "The Little Mermaid" sits pensively on a dark rock in a calm, dark blue sea. A large, bright yellow full moon dominates the background, casting shimmering reflections on the water's surface around the rock and the mermaid's tail. The scene evokes a sense of quiet longing and magical realism.

To whom it may concern, I am a 13-year-old resident of Woodbridge, and I am writing to show my appreciation of Amity Creative Theatre's recent production of The Little Mermaid. I was hoping to contribute to the newspaper by providing thoughts on this show. Firstly, I would like to say that the performers did a great job. The singing, choreography, and acting was admirable. Next, I thought the sets and costumes were possibly the best of any Amity show- one could tell that much effort and thought was put into every detail, especially Ariel's cave and the lake. Finally, I thought the whole performance was better than I had expected. Despite the story of The Little Mermaid being rather old and clichéd, this performance breathed new life into a tired fairy tale. Sincerely, Eli.

This is an opinion not necessarily endorsed by the Woodbridge Town News.
