The Town of Woodbridge is deeply saddened by the passing of longtime Assistant Recreation Director David Cohen, a beloved colleague and friend who served the Town for more than 30 years.

"David was a familiar face to generations of Woodbridge residents and an important part of our Town for more than three decades," said First Selectman Mica Cardozo. "He cared deeply about this community and the people he served, and that showed in the relationships he built over the years. David will be deeply missed, and our thoughts are with his family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him."‍

Recreation Director John Adamovich, who worked alongside David for decades, remembered him as both a trusted partner and close friend.

"David was my partner in this department, but he was also like an older brother to me. We worked side by side, leaned on each other, and shared so much of our lives. It is difficult to imagine this department without him. I will miss my colleague and my partner, but most of all, I will miss my friend."

David's impact on the Recreation Department and the Woodbridge community will continue to endure. The Town extends its deepest condolences to his family and to all those who knew and loved him.

This is an opinion not necessarily endorsed by the Woodbridge Town News.
