Winter Reading Update!

Winter Reading Party Tuesday, February 20 at 6:30 pm

Have you handed in your bingo sheets yet!? Have you started another?! Our Winter Reading game for adults continues now through February 20. Completed bingo sheets should be dropped off at the information desk to be entered into a Winter Reading Drawing—which will be held on Tuesday, February 20. Join us for music by Woodbridge artist Steven Bettencourt and refreshments, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm. (Drawing held at 7 pm) Thank you to the Friends of the Library for their support in this program! Arts & Craft Supply Swap

Come to the information desk with any unwanted craft supplies and browse other supplies brought by community members.

Seed Saving Workshop

February 5 at 6 pm

Join us with Caty Poole, former director at Massaro Community Farm, who will be leading this Seed Saving Workshop. Why save seeds? It allows gardeners to maintain a diverse and resilient plant population by preserving heirloom varieties and traditional crops...among other reasons! For more information and to register.

Adults Art & Craft Club

Wednesday, February 7 at 5:30 pmWant to learn knitting? Working on a needlepoint? Have a project you want to show off? Join us to unleash your creativity! A Conversation on Disability: What Should We Know and What Can We Do?

Woodbridge Scrabble Group

Wednesdays at 11 AM Meet with friends and neighbors for friendly games of Scrabble every week in the Meeting Room. No registration required.Thursday Night Film Screenings NOW beginning at 6 pm!Join us on Thursday evenings for a movie screening in our Meeting Room. No registration is required to attend, but seating is first come, first serve.

PLEASE NOTE: No film screening on Thursday, February 8 due to our February artists’ exhibit reception. All welcome to attend. More information.

Saturday Morning Meditation

Every Saturday at 10:15 am, one hour of silent Vipassana (mindfulness) meditation is hosted by Dr. Aruna Pawashe, a retired lecturer and scientist from Yale University.

She has been practicing Vipassana (which translates as: seeing things as they really are) meditation for over 15 years. She is a volunteer and a trustee member for the Vipassana Meditation Center in Shelburne, Massachusetts. Aruna has hosted many Vipassana meditation programs over the years throughout the greater New Haven area.

Lunar New Year Craft

Friday, February 9 at 3 pm for ages 5 and up.Make a paper lantern to celebrate the New Year! No registration required. This is a collaboration with the WTL

Teen Advisory Board

Meets monthly on Fridays at 3 pm (February 16 is this month’s meeting). See our Teen Volunteers page on our website for more info!Free Paint FridaysEvery Friday at 11 am for ages 3 to 5.A creative, expressive, free form painting session. No registration, space limited to first 8 participants. No entry after 11:10 am.

Book and Craft Club

Third Thursday of each month (Feb. 15) at 6:30 pm for grades K through 2. A very special book club: read and discuss a new book, then make a craft inspired by the story and illustrations. Please register online, space limited to 10 participants. Black History Month Book ClubTuesday, February 27 at 6:30 pm for ages 8 to 11Read one of Vashti Harrison’s Little Legends books, pick your favorite role model, and come prepared to share your role model and some facts you learned! At the book club, we’ll hang out, make art, enjoy refreshments, while listening to Black musicians from past and present! Please register online!

You can sign up for a library card online! Visit our website, woodbridgetownlibrary.org. After registering, you will immediately be able to use your new account to place holds on items for pick up at the library. We will then contact you via email within 2 business days with your new library card number. At this time, you will get full access to our electronic resources, including downloadable books and magazines. Please note that this is a temporary registration that will expire in 30 days. Before the 30 days is up, please visit the Woodbridge Town Library in person to verify your name and address. At that time, you will receive a permanent library card. Do we have your email address?Sign up for our email newsletters to receive notifications about events, new offerings, and library hours/closings. We typically only send one email a week. Join our mailing list by visiting our website and entering your email address in the form provided. That’s it! (You can also give us your email address while in the building.)
