Woodbridge Youth Spring into Action with Parties, Awards, and Job Opportunities

Spring Kickoff Party

Amity Middle School Bethany students are invited to an after-school party to celebrate spring on Friday, March 22, 2024 from 2:30 - 5:00 pm in the Amity Middle School’s Gym. Music, dancing, games, a photo booth, and pizza will bring the fun. Tickets are $10, and can be purchased at the following link:

AMSB PTSO Payments or purchase a ticket at lunch. Please purchase by 3/20/24. Extra raffle tickets can be purchased in advance on the link above for $1. Each child will receive one ticket at the program.

Spring Paint Party

Students at Amity Middle School are welcome to create their own masterpieces at the Paint Party on April 5, 2024, scheduled for 2:30 to 4:00 pm in the West Cafeteria. Instruction by Picasso Parties, materials, and snacks are included for $15 fee. No experience necessary. To register: Email Youthone@woodbridgect.org or call 203-389-3429. Space is limited.

First Selectman’s Youth Award: Nominations Sought

If you know a Woodbridge youth (up to 18 years old) who has volunteered their time working to improve the Town of Woodbridge or its residents, consider nominating that deserving resident. Principals, teachers, fellow students, neighbors, group, and religious leaders, etc. are encouraged to make nominations. Parents or family members may not nominate a relative. Nominations are due to Youth Services by April 8. The winner will receive their award at a Volunteer Celebration this spring. The nomination form can be found on the Town Website at www.woodbridgect.org/472/Programs or call the office at 203-389-3429. Please take some time to show appreciation to our wonderful young people.

Community Family Game Night - Fun for the whole family!

Join us for this all-age event for toddlers to grandparents to be held on April 10, 2024 from 5:30 to 7:30 pm in The Woodbridge Center at 4 Meetinghouse Lane ( Lower Level), Woodbridge. The $10 per family admission includes games, pizza, drinks, and cookies. Please RSVP to Woodbridge Human Services at 203-389-3429 or email: humanservices@woodbridgect.org with number of family members who will attend and the ages of the children. We’ll have age-appropriate games for all! Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult. The event is sponsored by the Woodbridge Rotary Club and hosted by Woodbridge Youth Services.

Red Cross Babysitter Training during Spring Recess

Teens (ages 12 – 17) will learn the basics of babysitting and first aid. Two-day class will be held Tuesday 4/16/24 & Thursday, 4/18/24 for 8:45 am to 12:45 pm. (Must attend both sessions) at the Woodbridge Library Meeting Room. Red Cross training, materials, and snacks included. Call to register soon as space is limited. Payment and permission form due by 4/12/24. 

Job Bank Seeks Woodbridge and Bethany Teens Who Want Work

The Job Bank guides teens ages 13-18 as they apply, interview, and earn money doing odd jobs for Woodbridge residents. Teens are needed. Jobs may include yard work and spring cleanup, moving boxes, babysitting, snow shoveling, animal care, tech help, and tutoring . Contact the Job Bank to schedule your interview.

Suicide Prevention Virtual Trainings- QPR (Question, Persuade, Refer)
