The following full-time student from Woodbridge has been named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2025 semester at Western Connecticut State University: Daisy Emma Kusnitz, Music Education
Congregation B’nai Jacob will host its 5th annual Gospel Shabbat Community Service on Friday, January 16, 2026. The service begins at 6:30 p.m. at the synagogue, located at 75 Rimmon Road in Woodbridge.
The Town of Woodbridge formally welcomed its newly elected officials at a Swearing-In Ceremony held Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Woodbridge Center Cafe.

I hope this message finds you well and in good spirits. This column marks my first Woodbridge Town News column as your First Selectman. This is also the first completely digital edition of the Woodbridge Town News. While I will personally miss receiving the paper in the mail, this digital format


Many of us in Woodbridge are gardeners, and others are actual farmers! At this cold, snowy time of year, we think of the promise of spring: enriching the soil, planting seeds and watching them blossom into the flowers, fruits, and vegetables of summer. A vibrant democracy works in a similar way.


Bucknell University has released the dean’s list for outstanding academic achievement during the fall semester of the 2023-24 academic year. A student must earn a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a scale of 4.0 to receive dean’s list recognition.


The countdown to kickoff has begun! Football fans everywhere are coming together to watch one of the most highly anticipated games of the year. And of course, this beloved American tradition isn’t complete without a winning lineup of game day snacks and a few cold beers with friends and family.

Amity performing arts students had the chance to rub shoulders with a bit of Broadway glamor recently, when Erika Henningsen and Kyle Selig – both actors from the original cast of Mean Girls the Musical - visited the school to present a workshop in the school’s Black Box Theater.


Beecher School Recognized for Its Use of TechnologyBeecher Road School recently was named an Apple Distinguished School, a recognition by the Apple company for schools that are making exemplary use of technology in teaching and learning. The town will mark the upcoming retirement of long-time Executive Assistant Geraldine Shaw with a farewell drop-in reception on Wednesday, December 20, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the town hall. January 2 will be her last day in the office, 48 years, 6 months and two days after she first started

For those who do not know me, I am honored to be the new Chairperson of the Woodbridge Republican Town Committee (the “WRTC”). As the Chair, I want to emphasize the focus of the WRTC – we care about Woodbridge as a Town, not state or national politics.


The holiday season is a time for coming together, celebrating the accomplishments of the past year, and looking ahead with a spirit of optimism toward the New Year. For our Town, there is much to feel good about 2023 and a genuine sense of excitement for what we can accomplish together in 2024.
