Timothy Paul Cohen, 60, of Woodbridge, CT, beloved husband of Mary-Jane “MJ” San Souci, passed away peacefully in her loving arms on May 4, 2025.

Born on August 18, 1964, Tim was the eldest son of Donald and Carol Cohen of Port St. Lucie, Florida. He grew up in East Hartford, CT, attended Penney High School, and went on to graduate with honors from the School of Architecture at Syracuse University, earning a master’s degree in architecture.

Tim had a lifelong passion for creative design and art, spending much of his life working in the industry as an architect. Gifted and a visionary, he played a key role in the design and construction of many significant buildings, including countless projects at Yale University, area schools, residential homes, and facilities on the University of Connecticut campus. His creativity etched a legacy that continues to inspire. His career was broad and diverse, working for architectural firms in Connecticut such as SLAM, Fletcher-Thompson, and Charney. Most recently, he served with pride as an Architectural and Engineering Manager at Dimeo Construction Company.

Tim's creativity and ingenuity extended to his own home and garden, where he dedicated countless hours to designing and meticulously perfecting a beautiful space for MJ and their rescue dogs. Many evenings, Tim, MJ, and the pups strolled through their gardens with a glass of wine, reflecting on their day — a cherished ritual that nurtured their bond. His love for his dogs ran deep and unconditional, and their newest companions, Coco and Lily, quickly became cherished members of the family.

Beyond his home, Tim embraced adventure and the outdoors with the same passion and dedication. Some of his happiest times were spent on the slopes, especially when teaching his young relatives to ski. He also treasured traveling with close friends to places like Anguilla and Martha’s Vineyard—trips filled with laughter, camaraderie, and lifelong memories.

Tim will be remembered as a man of character, generosity and unwavering integrity. He believed deeply in doing the right thing and encouraged others to do the same. Tim had a remarkable gift for sensing when others were in need. Quietly and without need for recognition, he stepped in offering a special comfort and support where it was needed most. His presence was marked by his authenticity, sound advice and loving spirit. To know Tim was to admire him.

Tim is survived by his loving wife of 22 years, MJ. He is also survived by his proud parents, Don and Carol Cohen of Port St. Lucie, FL; his brother, Matt (Donna) Cohen of Southington, CT; his sister, Melissa (Skip) Sproha of Palm City, FL; and his beloved nieces, Carly, Kelly, Macy, and Charisse. He will be deeply missed by his dearest friends Damian Pasqua, Tim & Sue Meehan and Drs Sherrod & Kevin Hamlin-Smeenk, whom he considered family.

A memorial service will be held at a later date. Interment will be private.
