Orange Police Sergeant Vincent Landisio and Woodbridge Police Officer John Lalli will be honored at the Amity Chamber of Commerce Community Awards and Annual Meeting as each town's Police Officer of the Year.

Both honorees were chosen by the leadership teams of the Orange Police and Woodbridge Police Departments. They will be presented their awards for outstanding service to their respective communities on September 25th at the Courtyard by Marriott, 136 Marsh Hill Road, Orange. Doors open at 8:30 am with a focused program and breakfast starting promptly at 9:00 am.

Orange Police Chief Robert Gagne and Woodbridge Police Chief Ronald E. Smith will present the Amity Chamber of Commerce awards with members of both departments, elected officials, Chamber members, family, friends, and the general public in attendance.

Sgt Vincent Landisio

Sergeant Landisio has faithfully served the Orange Police Department for over eight years. After two years in patrol, he was assigned to the Connecticut State Police Statewide Narcotics Task Force, and due to his impressive skills, was requested to participate in the Connecticut State Police/ New Haven Police Department Violent Crimes Task Force, a regional task force initiated in response to issues affecting all the municipalities in the Greater New Haven Region.  He was reassigned back to the Department after being promoted to the rank of sergeant in 2023.

As a supervisor in the Department who is a certified Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Sergeant Landisio has embraced the task of coordinating the town's emergency medical service efforts. One of his first accomplishments was to reestablish Orange’s status as a HEARTSafe Community.

Chief Gagne said, "Throughout his successes, Sergeant Landisio has always conducted himself with the utmost humility. He continually strives to build relationships, both internally and externally, and is an epitome of the values articulated in the Department’s mission statement: 'To protect life and property and to serve the public, always with integrity and professionalism, striving to achieve an atmosphere of mutual respect, trust and cooperation.'

It is for all these reasons that Sergeant Vincent Landisio is highly deserving of being honored as Police Officer of the Year.”

Officer John Lalli

Officer John Lalli has been a dedicated member of the Woodbridge Police Department since February 2019, bringing with him over two decades of experience from his prior service with the New Haven Police Department. Since joining the department, Officer Lalli has consistently demonstrated a high level of professionalism and commitment to the community he serves.

Chief Smith said, "Known for leading by example, Officer Lalli remains both highly vigilant and proactive in his duties. His exceptional investigative skills and unwavering dedication to traffic safety have set a standard within the department. These qualities, coupled with his continued excellence in policing, were significant factors in his selection as Woodbridge Police Department Officer of the Year. We are proud to recognize his outstanding service and commend him for his ongoing commitment to excellence."
